Kitchen Organization with etúHOME
Hi friends! How wild is this time? I keep thinking I’ll wake up tomorrow and it will all have been a weird, too much wine, kind of dream. We’re making the best of it though – enjoying the family time, slower pace and tackling some things that have been on our “to do” list for a while.
It’s no secret that I’m a total neat freak. I love clean, organized spaces. I’m a Navy brat which means I was born and raised with the Marie Kondo attitude of, “if it doesn’t bring you joy – let it go.” I literally make weekly drop-offs at our local Goodwill because I love getting rid of things that much.
So! Today I thought it would be fun to share how I’ve spent the last week organizing our kitchen. The main hero here is etúHOME. etúHOME is built around the belief that everyday pieces used to prepare, serve and store food – matter. Their collection is rooted in European designs and elevates everyday living.
Let me break that down – you know how my mantra is, “beautiful spaces and children can co-exist?” Well, they are basically saying – everyday, utilitarian pieces like food containers, can and should be treasured accents. And I’m here for it.
I used etúHOME’s glass canister collection to take our everyday snacks and foods from paper and plastic to unique jars and vessels worthy of the countertop space they take up.
Here are my must haves:
Bon Bon Jar in All Three Sizes – these are absolutely stunning. We use the largest size for popcorn and leave it on our kitchen table. It’s home to our children’s favorite snack, but it’s become part of our table’s display as well. Win, win. We have the medium and small jars side-by-side on our kitchen counter and rotate what they hold. You can also use either of the two smaller sizes to display soaps in a bathroom.
Barcelona and Bianca Wood Top Canisters – we use these for ALL THE SNACKS. Great for holding pretzels, granola, cookies, dried fruit, etc. I like having a mix of the Barcelona (black) and Bianca (white) in various sizes on hand. They look so beautiful mixed.
Barcelona Iron Top Canisters – the large canister is beautiful for pasta. I love how it pops off our white subway tile. It’s just as much about décor as it is utility. The smaller sizes are great for coffee beans, sugar, etc. I lean towards the black here since our kitchen already has a lot of white with our tiles, walls and countertops – but a mix of the Barcelona and Bianca would be lovely here as well!
Handthrown Crock –their handthrown pottery collection is dreamy, but I really love their crock when it comes to organization. I display our cooking utensils in it right next to our stovetop. The one picture below is their medium size.
Bianca Kitchen Caddy – this is so great for keeping your most-used cooking oils and spices on your counter, but in a clutter-free fashion.
You can see we use these favorites in our home here.
And here are a few other quick + easy ideas to show your kitchen some love:
Clean out coffee cup cabinet – I did this the other day. You guys, we reach for the same two Yetis for our coffee every morning and we had 50+ coffee mugs cluttering up our cabinets! We sorted through, kept our 10 favorites for when we have company and called it a day.
Organize kid plates, cups – designate a space in one of your lower cabinets for your plastic cups, plates, bowls, etc. Organize it in a way that makes it easy for your littles to grab what they need for meals and snacks and make it their responsibility to keep it clean.
Throw away old spices – you guys, spices expire. I dare you to go through your spice cabinet right now and own up to how many expired spices you are hoarding. Clean those out and you’ll feel 10lbs lighter.
Tidy “junk drawer” – why does the kitchen always fall victim to housing the junk drawer? We all have them – but guarantee you could go through yours right now and throw away 75 percent of its contents. Do it. It will feel good.
Recipe organization – Pinterest is great and all, but I love hardcopy recipes. My mom put together a journal for me a couple Christmases ago of our family recipes. It’s a beautiful, weathered journal and she wrapped a neutral bow around it – perfect for having out on display. You could start one to eventually pass down to your children. Or, you could write individual recipes out on cards and store them in a pretty box. Either way, would be a fun project during this time.
I hope this was helpful. I’d love to hear your favorite ways to organize your kitchen! etúHOME is offering FREE SHIPPING right now, so it’s the perfect time to stock up on some of my favorites I’ve shared. If you’re local, be sure to stop by their Buckhead store when life gets back to normal – it’s filled with beautiful inspiration for your home!
Stay tuned for a giveaway coming at you later this week!
