Makeup Routine for Women Who Hate Wearing Makeup
It’s no secret I don’t like makeup. Whether you’ve followed me on Instagram or seen me in the halls of preschool – it’s just not my thing. I don’t like the feel of anything “heavy” on my face and I equally dislike the time suck that it can require. But, I’m 33-years-old and some days my face could use a little extra help.
Below I’ve shared what I use – it’s simple, lightweight and natural. I’ve just never been the girl to wear heavy make-up although I can totally appreciate it on others. I’m just not that skilled!
I hope this is helpful! I wanted to put it all in one place for you vs. sporadic “swipe ups” on Instagram.
Both of these photos have no filters. The one on the left is make-up free. The one on the right is using the items outlined below.
After I wash my face, I use this lotion to moisturize. Most days I truly don’t wear makeup. Like 9/10 days. On those days I’ll double up on lotion with this one that’s tinted and has SPF. Boom. Done.
On the days I do wear makeup, I use this Glossier priming moisturizer.
Then around my eyes I use this brightening stick. It has a cooling sensation which just makes me feel good honestly.
I use this foundation (I use the shade Linen) and it’s super lightweight. My main issue with makeup is how it feels on my face. I hate the “heavy” feeling and this skips that. I also like that I’m not completely painting my face – freckles still sneak through which makes for a more natural appearance.
This touchup concealer pen is great for under my eyes where I have dark circles.
My go-to blush is in the shade Nectar.
This brow gel is an absolute must. If you get one thing – get this.
For mascara, I like this volumizing one.
I skip eyeshadow most days. I love how it looks on a fun night out, or on make-up gurus, but I know my limits.
For lips, I love a few different things. This is my favorite gloss (I like Bellini!). And this is my favorite more traditional lipstick (I like 9 to 5, Backstage and Little Black Dress. I’m wearing Backstage in these pictures).
When I shared these photos on stories the other day – I received a lot of questions about my skincare/specifically under eye care regime. Again, I use Beautycounter. Sorry for those of you that aren’t fans! Eeks! I love the Countertime Collection and specifically, their under eye cream.
If you have questions, just ask! You’ll notice in recent years I’ve switched more to Beautycounter. I don’t pretend to be a toxin-free, health girl – I prefer this brand more for it’s lightweight, natural looking feel.
