Entryway Reveal
“As you’ll soon see, confidence isn’t just a matter of the heart. Sometimes it’s a matter of the home…bold decor elements show how you can prevent beige on greige from taking over your house. Sometimes it only takes a little inspiration to get the nudge you need to really go for it; one striking element can change the feel of an entire room. – Joanna Gaines, The Magnolia Journal
In a different life, I think we’d be good friends. You know, in a world where she isn’t a household name and everyone thinks they’d be her BFF if they only just met. This past weekend I started the tradition of unplugging from social media to take a breath, focus on family and allow my mind to grow in a way that’s nearly impossible in automatic scroll mode. While the girls played outside, I sat in one of our rocking chairs and picked up a year-old issue of Magnolia Journal. Yep, how sad is that. A YEAR OLD. The quote I led with from the issue is Joanna’s take on bold decor elements and I couldn’t agree more.
I went bold in our foyer, knowing full well it wouldn’t be for everyone. It’s the first thing you see when you walk through our front doors and it invites you in with a little foreshadowing of the big personalities that call these walls home.
The only other element that competes with the wallpaper is our oversized “I Love Us” canvas leading up the stairs. I played with the idea of a family gallery wall in this space, but opted for something large and simple.
I encourage you to go bold in your home especially your foyer. Designing a home is all about making it your own. Don’t fall victim to copying everything you see on Pinterest. Go outside your comfort zone and add an element that transforms a space and makes you smile every time you walk by it.

Hello! Where did you find this I Love Us canvas? Thanks!

Hi! I ordered it through the store Urban Farmhouse in Milton, Ga. They had it shipped to their store where I picked-up, but if you’re local it’s worth calling them and seeing if they can order it for you and ship to your home! Here they are: https://www.facebook.com/UrbanFarmhouseInteriors/

Yay! You’re welcome. Fingers crossed they can make it work for you. If not, let me know – I have some ideas on other custom sign places that could help. xoxo.

Hi Meghan!
Would you be able to help me with some of the other custom sign places that would be able to ship?
Also, where did you find this plant that is next to the black bench in your foyer?
Thanks so much! Alyssa

Hi Alyssa – I do a lot of custom signs through Sugarboo and Co. I would start there: https://www.sugarbooandco.com/. One of the plants is Pottery Barn, the other is Target. Both planters are Target. Pottery Barn has great faux plants and greenery. I hope this helps!
