Guest Room Reveal
I love this room. Like wish it wasn’t the guest room, but a room I spent more time in LOVE. The room is on the main floor, right off our foyer. I used to keep the door closed, but now: door open, accent lighting on! I find myself peeking in here several times a day just admiring the little space we created for family and friends to enjoy.
My goal was to give the small room a big personality. I wanted to mix styles – a little bit farmhouse, a little bit modern and a dash of eclectic. A bold accent wall adds character and is balanced out by an airy, feminine bed frame.
I couldn’t love the end result more and look forward to hosting our first guest!

We tackled the moody accent wall first and decided on Sherwin Williams Granite Peak. Since the room is small and the color is bold, I knew I wanted to go with an all-white bed from the bedding to the frame. The Denice Metal Scroll Headboard from Soft Surroundings, complemented with bedding from Boll & Branch made for the perfect pair.
Because of the limited space, we opted for small nightstands. We’ve had these for years, but I updated with fun hardware from Anthropologie. I really have a thing for wall sconces and used to get sad when I couldn’t make them happen without an electrician. Then I got out of my own head and realized I actually like the way plug-in sconces look when done correctly. So voila! A super easy way to update the look of a room with fun lighting!
The star on the opposite side of the room is the Portier Chest from Arhaus. Craftsman-built using solid white oak and topped with artisan-sculpted bluestone. It’s stunning. I topped it off with an antique-style mirror and then disrupted the ecosystem with harsh, modern lines. Why you might ask? Because I despise nothing more than a room that only has one “style.” Plus, with the round wall baskets, we needed to incorporate some straight lines to balance things out.
I spy my little design-assistant popping into the frame. The girls love to help me, and I’m quite impressed with Bauer’s interest in it all!

Where did you purchase the picture frame on nightstand in the guest room ?

It was a gift from my mom from a small local shop in South Carolina. So sorry I can’t pass along the details!
